Breakfast with 70 ladies

Last Saturday my friend Ivonne and I took off for Querétaro to have breakfast at New Life Bible Church. We didn´t quite know what to expect. Well! Were we in for lots of surprises! Eight tables beautifully decorated graced the sanctuary and when everyone had arrived, there were at least 70 of us there - some arrived a bit late as is the custom here!

We started out with a delicious breakfast of tamales with a rajas and corn sauce accompanied with beans, orange juice, coffee (well, some of the ladies had coffee, I didn´t!), delicious sweet bread and papaya in yogurt. I got acquainted with the lady next to me and she almost talked my ear off! After eating we played a game where we had to divide into groups of four and open a bag that was given us, using all the contents as we saw fit. There was a brush, an emery board, a ball with bumps, and lotion. The idea was to show love to each other by offering these items to each other. (The ball gave a wonderful massage!) We then had to answer some questions as a group on receiving and showing love to each other. Chely Navarro then gave an excellent talk on loving others. Wow! She´s an amazing speaker!

Oh yes, and we sang! The worship team was great, complete with drums and guitars and several voices. Enjoyed it very much!

I´ll now let the pictures do the rest of the talking!

Some of you will recognize Tere, second from right. Behind her is Miguel and Diana González´ daughter playing guitar.

Saw lots of friends from way back: Claudia Cirnes, Esthercita (mamá) Cirnes, Diana´s mom (I can´t remember her name!), Lourdes González, Montserrat, Yolanda (Esiquio the lawyer´s wife), Chely - always a delight to see her!

Ivonne and I are hosting a breakfast at our church Saturday!! We assigned ladies different items (beans, tortillas, bread, milk, fruit, etc.), so we know those ladies will come! At least we hope so! This breakfast in Querétaro started out small and has grown amazingly. We´re hoping and praying our breakfast will also start out small and grow big!
