Terrible book!

Not because it's a terrible book, but because it's a terrible book! Both Kris and I described it that way as we read it - terrible!

Isabel Allende says: "This is a twenty-first century Odyssey. Nazrio's powerful writing illustrates one of the darkest stories in our country."

It is "the story of a boy's brave and harrowing search for the mother who loved him but left and is a most telling, moving, and unsparing account of those who struggle and sacrifice to give their families better lives, and the loneliness and regret that no success can ever fully put to rest..."(Scott Simon)

A glimpse into what immigrants who leave families behind for the rewards of the north, go through. And a glimpse into what many immigrants go through to come to the "land of plenty" and often find it isn't so plentiful of good things.

Hard to read, but something all of us need to be very aware of if we're going to have any kind of relationship or ministry to people from Latin America who are hurting and trying to find a better life for their families.

PLEASE check it out!
