LAZY, IDLE DAY

Since I'm surrounded by kiddos these days (Cameron 13, Dayton 10, Elia 8, Josie 7, Mikey 5 and Del 4, here's a good KID POEM, written by a kid!

LAZY, IDLE DAY

By Marilyn Petzy, age 13

A lazy, idle day.
A hot, humid afternoon.
Sipping lemonade.
Rocking . . .
back and forth
back and forth.
But she’s awake and alive,
and tiny, very tiny.
Taking up but a corner
of unused porch,
while I loll on the porch swing.
But she is busy, working fast,
So very clever.
Spinning, spinning . . .
her silver thread . . .
so fine and perfect.
Her survival . . .
her dinner . . .
her craftiness.

that poem reminds me of Elia. She's always busy, that one!
